The Mercedes-Benz CLCs That Weren’t Meant To Be

Now, wouldn’t it have been nice if the above rendering had actually managed to convince the decision-makers at Mercedes-Benz’ headquarters in Stuttgart that this is what the 2009 CLC should look like ?

We would have certainly preferred it from the final design proposition (check out the last two images after the jump) that economically wiggled its way into production. Read more »

Rumormill: Jaguar planning Porsche 911 rival

It’s full speed ahead for Jaguar, which seems determined not to miss a single beat even as it prepares to switch ownership from Ford to Tata.

As if an all-new XJ flagship sedan weren’t enough to keep the transitioning British automaker busy, rumors are now circulating that Jaguar is preparing a proper sportscar, more hardcore than the XK grand tourer.

You may recognize the image above as the F-Type roadster that Jaguar unveiled to rave reviews at the Detroit show in 2000. Unfortunately, Jag’s lagging sales – and the Aston Martin ceiling – forced Ford PAG to cancel the program, but Jaguar is reportedly preparing to present the case to its new owners. Read more »

The new Mercedes Benz CLC (SportCoupe) Announced

new Mercedes Benz CLC

The official announcement came in and a new Mercedes Benz CLC (SportCoupe) is ready to be released. It has the same C-class radiator grille we’re used with and the big Mercedes logo on it, new projection-beam headlamps, a new rear bumper and third brake LED light.

It’s obvious that the first thing you look at is the exterior and the new Mercedes Benz CLC has a lot to get your attention, but what about under the hood?

The specs include a 4-cylinder or a 6-cylinder engine that have from 122 hp up to 272 hp, a six-speed manual transmission for all models while the 7G-Tronic seven-speed transmission is optional for the V6 models. Read more »

Nissan GT-R Specs Brochure

Nissan GT-R

Rumors of a Spec V version of R35 Godzilla, that we all knew as the new Nissan GT-R, were confirmed these days when a brochure leaked and the result seems to be simple more power and less weight.

By using several techniques to pump up the muscles of a sports car the new Nissan GT-R is supposed to come with an all-carbon fiber body and should develop 382 kW / 512 bhp. To be honest this could suit well the Bond car, but who knows.

I’m not sure what the price would be, probably somewhere near $100k but if you consider the performances (this could probably get from 0 to 60 in 3 seconds?) it sure seems like a great deal. Read more »

Seeing Red: all-crimson Bugati Veyron up for sale

The exquisite two-tone paint schemes are just one of the many factors that make the Bugatti Veyron stand out, so how do you make yours stand out from the rest of them ?

Why, opt for a monochrome tint, of course. It seems so natural – cliché to some – to order a hyper-exotic supercar in bright red, yet this is the first

Veyron we’ve seen decked out in this typically Ferrari color scheme: all red with a black leather interior. And it’s for sale. Contact your financial advisors Read more »

2009 Camaro Interior Images Reveal All !

Our Jalopnik buddies have managed to discover a new set of spy images featuring the interior of the pre-production 2009 Camaro.

From what we can tell, these pictures must have been taken with a mobile-phone camera by someone in a real big hurry to get the job done quickly, but that’s totally o.k. with us.

Even though we have to bear in mind that this is a pre-production interior, it looks like the 2009 Camaro’s cabin will remain pretty close to the original concept. Read more »

Corvette ZR1 - The American SuperCar

Corvette ZR1 - The American SuperCar

America has a SuperCar, or at least this is what Chevrolet general manager Ed Peper is saying (thinking) after showing to the public the new Corvette ZR1 at the Detroit Auto Show.

Corvette is deep inside he blood of every American that needs speed and looks, but the we ZR1 is really business.

It comes with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that sports 620 hp and a 823 NM (595 lb/ft) torque, being able to hit the 200mph speed, while the speedometer has a 220 mph on it.

Corvette’s ZR1 basic stats include a manual six-speed gearbox (race hardened), a high capacity dual-disc clutch or larger brake calipers.

The design is great, with a raised carbon-fiber hood and carbon fiber panels prominent inside on the fenders, the roof and front splitter. Consider 19-inch or 20-inch chrome wheels and a dark color for the American SuperCar and it’s looking furious.
