Nissan GT-R Specs Brochure

Nissan GT-R

Rumors of a Spec V version of R35 Godzilla, that we all knew as the new Nissan GT-R, were confirmed these days when a brochure leaked and the result seems to be simple more power and less weight.

By using several techniques to pump up the muscles of a sports car the new Nissan GT-R is supposed to come with an all-carbon fiber body and should develop 382 kW / 512 bhp. To be honest this could suit well the Bond car, but who knows.

I’m not sure what the price would be, probably somewhere near $100k but if you consider the performances (this could probably get from 0 to 60 in 3 seconds?) it sure seems like a great deal. Read more »

Nissan FORUM Concept: The future of people moving?

Nissan doesn’t look like it’s ready to throw in the towel on minivans–at least not yet.

The Forum concept, which Nissan is bringing to the Detroit auto show in January, has the automaker’s design crew trying to shift the perception of people movers from the stigmatized mom-mobile to a luxurious gathering space for families on the go.

Nissan hosts GT-R owners meet

While the new GT-R sat out of reach on its velvet rope guarded pedestal at the Los Angeles Auto Show, InsideLine, along with Nissan and its advertising agency Chiat/Day, hosted a gathering for Nissan enthusiasts.

The gathering was intended to give devout Nissan supporters a closer look at the new R35 GT-R. Preferential treatment went to those who owned, or once owned, previous generation GT-Rs. Nissan acknowledged that without their passion for a vehicle unsupported in the U.S. market, the new model might not have ever made it to showrooms in North America.

The day was all about giving something back to those who helped grow the GT-R namesake. Read more »

Nissan can’t prevent GT-R markups at dealer level

Despite floating a plan that would attempt to stop the inevitable customer speculation in the GT-R by voiding the car’s warranty if it were sold in the first year, Nissan has come to the conclusion that they are, frankly, powerless to stop it. The company says it gave up on the plan because it wouldn’t be fair to the guy who really had to sell his car within that time.

The other folks who Nissan won’t be able to stop from making a bundle by marking up the car are its own dealers, who, let’s face it, are frothing at the mouth to have a GT-R on display in their showrooms.

Honestly, after years of trying to push Maximas and Sentras, if you were lucky enough to get some GT-Rs to sell, wouldn’t you add a little cream? For some new shoes for the kids? Especially since there will be only 1,500 sold the first year ? Read more »
